As a mother through surrogacy, I have the unique experience of being a therapist with first-hand knowledge of what it is like to be an intended parent. I draw on both my personal and professional experience to create a safe and empathetic space for intended parents and for surrogates to explore their feelings about their personal journeys through surrogacy and the circumstances that have led them to choose surrogacy.
Psychotherapy
Whether you are a surrogate or intended parents, at any stage in the process it may become helpful to seek support for your mental health. When I am working with clients I use a combination of motivational interviewing, emotionally focused therapy, and other techniques as needed to help you explore your choices and make peace with your decisions. My approach is unique and adaptive to your needs rather than being prescriptive. This counselling work can be done either individually or as a couple.
My hourly rate for psychotherapy with Carried With Love is $165. I also provide a free 15 minute consultation so you can test the water and see if we could be a good fit.
Psychosocial Assessments
As part of the process of screening and approval for surrogacy in Canada, you will have to complete a psychosocial assessment with a trained professional. I am able to meet with you to complete these psychosocial assessments. Since I have been on both sides of this type of assessment, I am able to bring a unique blend of empathy, compassion, and understanding to the process.
The flat rate for psychosocial assessments through Carried With Love is $420.
